I love trends and fun clothes but incorporating fun, stylish clothes at work has always been hit and miss. For those who do not know, I am an accountant in corporate America. Granted the dress code is business casual, it's still a bit stuffy in an accounting office. Then enters Ann Taylor...
For the last 3 years my closet has become an Ann Taylor warehouse. The collections at AT have been stepped up big time. I go to work and I feel like I look professional but I look young and fashionable. I mean I am only 30! I am too young to be drowning in work clothes that say you are officially uncool. With AT, I can easily go from the office to happy hour and not feel like I look too "buttoned-up" and out of place. I love that I continuously get compliments from co-workers about my wardrobe or questions as to where I got that shirt. Now, they do not even ask. They already know it's Ann Taylor or Loft.
The biggest misconception about AT is that it's expensive. No, it's not. Anyone who knows me knows I am a bargain shopper or I do not shop! AT frequently has great sales and are good to their frequent shoppers. So good! Now they do have some pricey pieces but those are good closet staples to have. The LBD and blazer are necessary to have. Think about it this way, how often will you wear what you purchase? A nice pair of black slacks may be $88 but if you are going to wear them often and they are well made and can last you through the seasons...$88 is a steal! Not to mention if you buy with one of their regular coupons they send out quite often, you may be able to get the same pair of pants for about $62!! Winning!
So I say all this to inform you that I got some awesome pieces from AT this weekend and my entire purchase was 25% off. No, that was not just for frequent customers but for everyone. No coupon required! Being the fiscal maven I am, I went straight to the clearance rack. I got the adorable white and gray mesh sequin tank, the sleeveless drape top in a steel silvery/blue color, and some finals sale items (4 cardigans and a purple long sleeve boat neck dress - all $9.88). The gray cardigan will look too cute with the mesh sequin top. You should see me doing my happy dance right now!!!
The next time you need to shop for clothes, give Ann Taylor a second look. You may become obsessed just like me! But don't say I didn't warn you...
Fashionably Yours,
~Bre~

Oops...I did it again
I broke the bank again people. I will post some pics of all my purchases a little later. What is it with me?
Ok, so last weekend a friend and I took a MAC makeup class at Macy's. The class is free, you just have to purchase a Macy's gift card of $50 to reserve your seat. You can spend it on MAC makeup after the class or on whatever in Macy's. Of course I spent it (and then some on MAC). The class was really interesting and I learned a lot! I ended up buying MAC's Studio Moisture Fix Lotion, Skin Base Visage Prep and Prime, Studio Finish Concealer (NC45), Blot Powder Press (dark), and the Lip Conditioner hydrant. I love all of these items except the concealer. It's the right shade but I just think it's going to take some practice to get the application just right. Ok, that was all purchased last Saturday.
Since the class I have become totally obsessed with makeup. So I was at home playing in my makeup like a school girl and thought to myself...I bet I could find a "how-to" video on YouTube. WTH! There's a whole community of YouTubers that vlog on makeup and fashion. I think I have died and gone to my own personal fashion forward heaven! Where have you ladies been all my life? These girls have taught me in the last week about all brands of makeup, how to apply it, and heck...they even knew what shades to buy in drugstore makeup based on your MAC foundation colors.
This is getting lengthy. I'll try to speed this up. So by Tuesday I had ordered some brushes and eyeshadows from E.L.F. On Wednesday, I went bargain hunting at Big Lots and Dollar Tree and found some stuff like eyeliner and brushes. I maybe spent $5 in total for both stores. Friday I bought the Sonia Kashuk Blending Sponge from Target. Today, I went back to the MAC counter and purchased the Brush Cleaner and bought Viva Glam VI lipstick (I've been wanting it). I bought from Rite-Aid the Revlon Colorstay Foundation in Caramel, Suave Professional Vibrant Shine Shampoo and Conditioner, Maybelline Lash Stylish in Very Black (75% off BTW), and Queen Helene Sculpting and Styling Gel. Whew.... I feel like I just confessed the dirtiest and biggest secret and should take some things back. I'm so ashamed. Hella cute...but ashamed. I'll post pics a little later.
If you guys haven't seen Dulce Candy's blog or YouTube videos.. you're missing out. Her style is FIERCE! Makeup and fashion! She's going to be huge, so look out for her. She's funny and has hella personality and flavor! Her videos and blog are kinda what got me off my butt to do mine. I always wanted to but never really knew where to start. Big ups to her!

Styles I love....

I so adore Michelle Obama's style! This top by Basso & Brooke is too cute. Have we ever seen the White House this stylish?
Everything was put together nicely...the outfit, makeup , and hair! Two thumbs up! Mr. President ain't looking too bad, either!
I found a website that is all about Michelle and her style. Check out http://Mrs-O.org. I like this site!
Blah, blah, blah.... a little bit about me. Try not to fall asleep!
This is my first post! Yea me! A quick 101 of me. A Mississippi native that now resides in TN. Big difference, right? I work in the accounting field but I am also in the beginning stages of starting my own event and wedding planning business. I have my master's degree in Accounting and I am studying to obtain my CPA. I know, I am burning the candle at both ends!
I have been wanting to blog for so long and now I finally am! Yea! So my posts will be about everything that inspires me. So if you are looking for specifics on this blog... good luck with that. LOL!
I am so inspired by so many things: music, fashion, dance, artistry, and just all things crafty. I am just one of those people. The person that enjoys and wants to do too much and, God willing, I will do all of those things eventually.
So... I hope you guys enjoy my blog and will stop through often. I am a busy girl so I can't promise a daily post but I will try to post something weekly. Feel free to ask me anything and I'll try to respond.
